Cesky Krumlov

Czech Republic for Families

Fairytale like castles, stunning nature with a river that inspired its own symphony and excellent yet affordable beer make the Czech Republic a perfect destination for families. This is a place that calls for a slower pace and savoring…

Cesky Krumlov

Czech Republic for families is a fairy-tale

With abundance of perfect castles, seating neatly on top of the hills, guarding small medieval villages. At first you think you have stumbled upon a scene from your favorite childhood book. Maybe just maybe Hans Christian Andersen or the Grimm brothers were somewhere around Cesky Krumlov, when they were writing theirs down. Perhaps they didn’t have such a vivid imagination, perhaps they just described what they witnessed.

Or just maybe the people in Czech Republic hired creatives at Disney and asked them to spice the country up. “How can we make it better?” Well, they pondered, “let’s put all the castles on the hills, let’s have a river running through the already pretty villages, add some wooden bridges and cobble stone streets and yeah, that should work.”

  • Visit Cesky Krumlov and Hluboka.

Czech Republic is beer lovers’ paradise

The fact they produce awesome beer, is common knowledge. But until you get yourself over there, you haven’t really tried anything yet. With breweries in Cesky Krumlov and Ceske Budejovice, you can see what they are all about too. I think the best part of exploring this country was putting kids to bed and then sharing a bottle and trying a different one every evening. Too bad this paradise only lasted three nights and then we were back to the grim reality.

  • Try the great Budweiser Budvar or Bernard.

Czech Republic is a natural reserve

Giant trees, as tall as some ancient giants, lovely river Vltava making its way through the country, Lake Lipno where we rowed in the afternoons and enjoyed the many beautiful views of the surrounding forrest. It makes you forget the towns, villages and civilization and just stay in the wilderness.

We rented an apartment right on the Lipno lake and we woke up to the most incredible views of sun rays playing on the water surface and sounds of birds singing on our terrace. It was very hard to go out and about when right in front of us, was perfect enough.

  • Stay at the lovely Lipno Lake, we rented an apartment called Bella Vista Lipno. It came with a perk of having a boat all to ourselves.

Coolkidz Final Say:

  • Try the Lipno Treetop Walkway, it’s really great and a bit scary at times as well. (Scary only for Mom). We had no trouble looking down.

That’s what a vacation really is. Having fun, exploring but also taking time to wind down. And that’s what we’ve found in the beautiful Czech Republic. Thus it can be said it was: just perfect.
